VOTED THE GIRL WITH THE CUTEST KNEES IN THE 8TH GRADE.

LIVED IN A COVERED WAGON. IT EVEN HAD BUNK BEDS

MY HAIR HUNG DOWN TO MY WAIST UNTIL I WAS 13 YEARS OLD. I WORE IT IN BRAIDS.I CUT IT OFF ON THE DAY THE 2ND WORLD WAR WAS OVER.

I DID NT LEARN TO DRIVE UNTIL I WAS 23 YEARS OLD.

GOT MARRIED 3 WEEKS BEFORE MY 17TH BIRTHDAY AND GRADUATED HIGH SCHOOL A YEAR LATER

Had a great Thanksgiving. It was fun to have Sandra come last Sat. and get Thanksgiving dinner for us and three of my friends and we had food we shared with others. I am so grateful for all of you and your visits. Joanna&Julia came on their way to the Carrie Underwood concert.Nicole and Earlene .Joanna & Cory came with the boys, In all it was a great fall.It was good to see Scott and Earlene come by on their trip. I so thankful for them stopping in to see my mother and dad.
I am thankful for clouds. I just love all the different formations. I love the way the leaves smell.

Well its about time I posted. HAPPY THANKS GIVING!!! I love the sounds of Christmas. The smells like cinnamom and nutmeg and pumpkin pie.I love that people are more friendly. I love the colors red&green, white and red,blues and silver and the maroons, purpleI love the Christmas Story. I never tired of it.The laughter and delight of children and thier happy little voices.
I love our family calls to each other, the blogs and emails. I LOVE CHRISTMAS AND ALL OF YOU.

READ THE SCRIPTURES-ESPECIALLY LOOK UP LOVE AND GO TO ALL THE TIMES THE SAVIOUR TALKED ABOUT HOW MUCH HE LOVES US AND HOW SAFE AND BLESSED WE ARE.

Yesterday I was able to walk two steps and today I walked 5 steps. it filled me with so much hope.

All kinds of vegetable's are coming up. Hope the erratic weather doesn't confuse them. 90 degrees and then a forty degree drop and cold train. I go visit my flowers and wind chimes that Donnie saved for me.I get there about once a week. he has thousands of Rocky Mountain Canaries and hummingbirds so it is nice to go there. I get to even sit in my own lawn chair.

I deeply appreciate all the support you have given. Thankyoooooooooou for the cards the gifts,cards,books, clothes, flowers, calls and encouragement.
I am on a much more even keel.

IT'S BEEN A TRYING WEEK OR SO BUT THE WORST IS OVER.The Apt. almost cleared out the patio is pretty well cleared at so a few tweaks and we should be done by the time Sandra and Cory get here. I will call Jeff Spriggs too to help out. My bed here is trash so am going to see if my bed at home can be reparied and brought hree. I have permission I just have to see if the repairs on it ar worth getting and paying to move it.
The frig is spotless and the rest of the house with a little vacuming will be fine.

WELL I DIDN'T SEE THIS MOVE TO THE CARE CENTER COMING SO SOON. I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE A MUCH MORE GRADUAL EVENT.THE FACT OF THE INJURED HIP AND TIME AND COST ELEMENTS THINGS HAVE ESCALATED.

EVERYONE IS ASKING ME HOW I FEEL AND I I FEEL ISOLATED, SHUT DOWN, MOMENTS OF QUIET DESPERATION AND LIKE JUMPING UP AND DOWN AND SCREAMING AND PULLING OUT MY HAIR.

IT IS HARD MAKING LIFE CHANGING DECISIONS UNDER THIS KIND OF CONDITIONS. SANDRA IS VERY GOOD AT ORGANIZING AND KEEPING ME FOCUSED.

I AM GLAD SHE IS STRONG AND DECISIVE AND IT IS PROBABLY HARDER ON HER THAN ME. SHE IS VERY SWEET AT ALLOWING AS MANY CHOICES AS SHE CAN AND REMEMBERING I CAN'T CONTROL WHAT OTHER PEOPLE DO.I DIDN'T WANT OTHER PEOPLE MAULING OVER MY BELONGINGS LIKE VULTURES BUT THERE IS NO TIME OR ENERGY TO GET THINGS TO DI AND THEY DON;T PICK UP ANYMORE.

MY FRIENDS DONNIE AND JOYCE ARE GOING TO PACK UP AND SAVE SOME THINGS FOR ME AND FINISH CLEANING THE APT.

I SO DEEPLY APPRECIATE ALL OF MY DEAR FAMILY MEMBERS OFFERING THEIR HELP. IT HAS MADE ME FEEL LOVED AND CARED FOR. WE ARE FALLING OVER EACH OTHER RIGHT NOW AND WE WILL LET SOME OF YOU KNOW WHEN AND IF WE NEED HELP. I LOVE SPRING WITH ALL ITS SIGNS OF HOPE AND JOY!

Hope YOU ALL FIND JOY IN THE FLOWERS, BIRDS ,THESMELL OF ALL THE FLOWERS AND BUSHES. I HAVE SOME HEATHER AND IT HASN'T STARTED TO BLOOM BUT IT IS SO GREAT TO SMELL.

I AM SO EXCITED ABOUT CONFERENCE AND PRESIDENT MONSON AND TO HEAR WHAT HE HAS TO SAY.

WHEN I WAS HERE ON MY MISSION HE WAS TO BE OUR SPEAKER FOR CHRISTMAS DINNER. HE WAS FORTY-FIVE MINUET ES LATE AND HE LOOKED EXHAUSTED AND ILL AND HE APOLOGIZED FOR BEING LATE AND SAID SOMEONE HAD CALLED HIM AND WAS SUICIDAL SO HE HAD TO DEAL WITH THAT PERSON.

when THE EVENING WAS OVER ALL THE PEOPLE STARTED PUSHING TO GE UP TO GREAT HIM AND ONE OF MY FRIENDS WAS REALLY PUSH AND SAID "oh! COME ON UP AND i"LL INTRODUCE YOU". HE LOOKED SO TIRED i JUST COULD NOT IMPOSE ON HIM AND SO i SAID NO AND TURNED AWAY AND WENT ON OUT INTO THE HALL MYSELF AND STARTED TO LEAVE

PRESIDENT MONSON PUSHED THUR THE CROWD AND LAID HIS HAND ON MY RIGHT SHOULDER AND SAID "SISTER , THE SEALING YOU ARE CONCERNED ABOUT IS GOING TO BE ALRIGHT. " THE FEELING OF POWER AND JOY .OF BEING BLESSED IS OVER WHELMING EVEN TO THIS DAY.

Everyman hears a different drummer, whether the the beat be near or far away.

I am so amazed by my children and their different paths they have taken and everyday get excited about each wonderful grandchild and marvelous,beautiful , intelligent , humorous great grandchildren. Each soul is so wonderful and exciting.

I always tell the grandchildren "You are one of a kind..No two SNOWFLAKES ARE ALIKE AND SO YOU ARE UNIQUE.

I so appreciate each personality. Gabe's humor, Hunter the wise little owl, Alli the princes , Taylor the singer and looking forward to new Little Rhien girl.

I am thinking a lot about Julia about to start on her life's adventure. I know its hard to live the gospel ideals in your life and so often it seems we stand alone .Heavenly Father is always aware of us. and the the sacrifices we make to keep the commandments. I can't imagine the courage for all of you it has taken to go on missions go to school , get jobs get married and have families.

Julia we all know it wont always be easy but it will be exciting, rewarding and wonderful. Remember you are not alone and just one call to anyone of us and ;you will feel our love and support.

I am a lone now and not blessed with a lot of jewels and wealth but I am among the richest women on earth because of my family and because I have had to make hard decisions but the Lord is always with me and I have peace in my heart .

When I see others go helter skelter to and for I am so thankful for the peace I have found.

I wish you all courage ,faith, hope, joy in all you do and peace of mind.

Keep on marching to your own drummer. Even if it takes you to Alaska or the Olympics in Japan.

Duck Tape

Don't you just love Duck Tape?

You can wrap it around your hand wrong sticky side out and it is wonderful to

pick up hair or lint or what ever.

Good for holding diapers together.

You can fix any number of problems with Duck Tape.

Fix a tear

Fix a hem in an emergency

The next best thing is WD 40. Girls it is amazing. If it squeaks -spray it with WD 40.

Sorry ! Not children or mice. It does keep cats and dogs from chewing on electric cords.

I also love needle nose pliers. They can cut wire, pullout pins , and all kinds of other little jobs.

I love screw drivers. Girls get you at least 3 sizes of Phillipp's and them hide them from the guys.Also the needle nose pliers need hid.

Its like dress making scissors-MUST be hidden from men and children.

I love super glue but Donnie won't let me have any of it and has instructed my aides to take it and hide it if they find it here. I only glued my finger to my eye lid. my arm to the kitchen drain board and a few other things.

I love my drill and I have all sizes of drill bits and love them and would like more. I don't have one now big enough to drill some big holes in a piece of old log i have so i can plant cacti in the holes.I even have a $60 tiny diamond drill for jewelry.

I really have to hide that set of drills.

i still would like to have a band saw and a place to work. And then there are routers?sp and all kinds of things.

Sometimes its just good to appreciate the smaller things in life. Love

I AM FACING ONE OF THE HADEST TIMES OF MY LIFE.

MY DEAR DADDY ART IS NEAR THE END OF HIS LIFE. SINCE HE IS ALMOST TOTALLY BLIND AND CAN'T HEAR ANYTHING MUCHMY HEART BREAKS FOR HIM AND MY MOTHER.

I AM PRAYING NOW THAT HEAVENLY FATHER TAKES HIM HOME SOON. HE IS REALLY SUFFERING WITH THE NEW PROBLEM HE HAS AND IS GOING TO HAVE TO HAVE A GROWTH REMOVED AND HE MAY NOT SURVIVE THE SURGERY. SO PRAY FOR HIS REALESE OF THE PAIN AND SUFFERING.

HE AND MY MOTHER HAVE HAD THE LOVE OF A LIFE TIME AND SO THEY ARE BLESSED.

MY DEAR MOTHER IS ALO SUFFERING. sHE IS STILL TRYIBNG TO HELP HIM AND SO HAS WORN HERSELF DOWN. PLEASE PRAY FOR HER TOO.

THEY SAY DEATH IS THE ULTIMATE REJECTION AND. iTS VERY HARD TO BE THE ONE LEFT BEHIND.

DADDY ART IS THE KINDEST PERSON I HAVE EVER KNOWN. HE SAW ALL THREE OF US WALKER KIDS THROUGH THE TEENAGE YEARS AND LOVED US ALL WITH HIS WHOLE HEART. HIS HEART WAS SO BIG HE TOOK US IN AND HAD LOTS OF LOVE FOR HIS SALLY DEE AND DEAR JANINE.

My thoughts on Stress!

Do you know anyone who isn't stressed , about to be stressed or isn't totally stressed out?
this has me thinking. Is it just modern times we human "beans" were stressed.

I envision a cave woman hovering in fear in her cave , either afraid a cave man would come and drag her off or fearful he might not.

How about this true
pioneer story : a woman near Ogden had been waiting with her children for her husband to return with some dearly need salt and flour but he was a day and a half late. Their was always a lot of Indian activity in the community. They would come and want food and just take cattle or whatever.

The woman stood shaking with her children hidden as much as possible. ONE EVEN UNDER SKIT. HER HUSBAND HAD LEFT HER HIS SHOTGUN. Knock! knock and the door opened and there were five Indians holding out their hands wanting food. NOW ARE YOU READY FOR THIS?
The woman shook the rifle at them and then decided she should give them something and as she went to get food she was shaking so hard her wooden teeth flipped out into the middle of the floor and the Indians, who had never seen such a thing , got frightened and ran away.

SO WHAT IS THE MORAL OF THIS !

There has always been stress and there always will be. So much of life is out of our control. So what can we do?
We don't have power of storms war and TERROR. What we have is the power of how we act or react. In my book it is always better to act on you own plan and you own power.

So when babies cry, the phone is ringing ,you are all ready late. The car is out of gas you have no change.What do you do?

WHEN YOUR BOSS BLAMES YOU FOR SOMEONE ELSE'S MISTAKES?

When you Best friend breaks your heart?

Forgiving the stressor is a good starting. Getting frustrated or blaming yourself or someone else urges on the frenzy.

We don't allow anyone to call us dumb, but we do it to our selves. Another page out of my book is: there's enough people willing to dis's me so why do it to my self.

So, grab the kids , give them hugs and kisses and roll on the floor with them. Let the phone ring and ring and ring.

Realize the boss is stressed too and maybe he picked on you cause he knew you were big enough to forgive and forget.

I have to stop and ask my self "Is this worth a headache that last for several days".Most things aren't. Is it worth wrecking a friendship over? Think it over. talk it over , it could be a misunderstanding. Keep things in prospective , Appointments can be cancelled ,skipped, remodeled. Meals Can be late. There is always MC Donald's. And as Julia said And come Home!MARILYN

IN OREGON ONE OF THE BIGGEST PAPER CO. 'S GROWS A VERY QUICK GROWING TREE THAT IN TWO YEARS CAN BE HARVESTED FOR PAPER. SAVING OLD GROWTH TREES

PLEASE STOP ALL CATALOGS THAT ARE NOT ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY. THE RAIN FORREST'S IN BRAZIL ARE BEING USED UP TO MAKE PAPER FOR CATALOGS.

FOR OUR MENTAL HEALTH WE NEED TO VIEW AS LITTLE NEWS AS POSSIBLE AND STILL BE INFORMED. AVOID REPEATS ,ESPECIALLY THOSE RECOUNTING THE DISASTERS OVER AND OVER.
